Getting to Cambridge

By Road

Information about the main routes into Cambridge is available from the University Map. For the most direct route to Free School Lane, exit at Junction 11 of the M11 and follow the A1134 (Trumpington Road) through Trumpington into the centre of Cambridge. Please note there is some metered street parking on Free School Lane.

By Rail

Cambridge is less than an hour away from London by train with frequent departures from King’s Cross and Liverpool Street stations.  Timetable information is available from National Rail. Taxis are available for hire at Cambridge Station, which is approximately 1 mile from the city centre. The station is marked on the Regional Roads Map. The walk from the station to Free School Lane takes about 20 minutes.

By Coach

The central drop-off point for bus services is at the city bus station on Drummer Street (indicated on the Regional Roads Map). Further information about bus routes and timetables is available from the University website or the Council website.

By Air

Cambridge Coach Services run an hourly bus service to and from Stansted, Luton, Heathrow and Gatwick airports (telephone +44 (0)1223 423900). Railway service is also available from Stansted (for more information see National Rail Enquiries web site or from the UK call National Rail Enquiries 08457 48 49 50). The University maintains links to more airport information.
