PLEASE NOTE: THE MPHIL TUTOR WILL MEET EACH STUDENT BRIEFLY ON TUESDAY 4 OCTOBER

Dates 2011 Programme
4 October Michaelmas Full Term commences
10am-12.30am Training in Health & Safety Course.  Students need to be at the Babbage Lecture Theatre, New Museums Site by 9.45. You are required to attend this course.
12.00noon-5.00 pm Brief interviews with SA course Tutor (schedule available from administration office)
5 October  
3.00 pm– 4.30pm Tour of Department and Faculty.  Meet in the Common Room.
5.00pm- 6.00pm Introduction to the MPhil Course, Seminar Room
6.00 pm Informal Reception in Seminar Room, Department of Social Anthropology
2 November 4pm-5pm ‘Transfer to PhD’, Seminar Room
9 November Division of Michaelmas Term
18 November Application deadline for permission to submit optional essay
25 November Deadline for submitting Form MP13 (for choice of examination papers and Set/Optional Essay titles) to the administration office by 4.00pm
2 December Michaelmas Full Term ends

17 January Lent Full Term commences
13 February Division of Lent Term
17 February Deadline for submitting thesis titles for approval by Degree Committee.  Confirm choice of thesis submission date
16 March Lent Full Term Ends
24 April Easter Full Term commences
  Set Essay (two copies) to be submitted to the administration office by 12 noon
  Submit a one page synopsis of your intended thesis to the administration office (this applies only to students who wish to submit thesis on 21 May)
18 May Optional Essay (two copies) to be submitted to the administration office by 12 noon
  Submit a one-page synopsis of your intended thesis to administration office (this applies only to those students who wish to submit their thesis on 31 August)
  First thesis submission date: submit two copies of your thesis to the administration office by 12 noon. (this applies if you elect to submit on the first date rather than the second date, 31 August)
21 May Division of Easter Term
End May/early June Examinations. Please refer to Reporter
15 June Easter Full Term ends
  Please ensure that the administration office has up-to-date contact details
31 August Second and final thesis submission date. Please submit two copies of your thesis to administration office by 12 noon
