Creating God's Alfabeth: Invention and Prophetic Imagination in Central Africa
Focusing on the a relatively young Kongo alfabeth and graphic system and on the life-story of its Congolese inventor, the talk discusses the fragile relationship between revelation and agency, between prophetic and creative careers, as well as between carismatic individual and their publics in postcolonial Africa.
