SAN4: Ethnographic areas

In Part IIA students studying single track Social Anthropology are required to study one ethnographic area from the choice listed below.  Options are subject to change.

IIA students studying Social Anthropology as a joint track with other subjects in the Tripos have the option of choosing an ethnographic area paper.

SAN4 Ethnographic area papers are all principally seminar taught and numbers are capped. This ensures that students have assigned topics and read for the seminars and take turns in presenting to the rest of the group.  SAN4 papers are assessed by an end of year exam, but are not supervised so that students are able to devote their time and energies to preparation for seminars.
