The William Wyse Bursary is intended for students who wish to pursue either the MPhil or MRes programmes in Social Anthropology for admission in Michaelmas 2017.
The Bursary is tenable for the duration of the course and covers fees and maintenance at the minimum rate set by the Student Registry.
How to Apply
To be considered for the William Wyse Bursary, applications must have applied online via the University’s Graduate Admissions Office for entry to either the MPhil or MRes programmes in Social Anthropology by 4 January 2017.
In addition, candidates must submit a Bursary application directly to the Division of Social Anthropology, via the Wyse funding A complete application consists of the following documents, which must be uploaded to the by 6 January 2017 at the very latest:
- Two academic references*
- A substantial example of written work
- For MPhil applicants: A 500 word statement of interest explaining the reasons for wishing to do this course and for studying Social Anthropology at this level. Include any special interests and past experience which you consider relevant, and your plans for the future.
- For MRes applicants: A 1000 word statement of their proposed plan of research;
*Applicants are responsible for ensuring that their referees submit their reference by the closing date.
