Winner: Lily Rice (Girton College)

The Division is pleased to announce the winner of the 2015 Wyse Undergraduate Prize for Dissertation Research. The prize goes to Lily Rice of Girton College for a project proposal entitled ‘Exploring the construction of humanism in Uganda’. Taking ‘humanism’ as the subject of ethnographic study rather than as an analytical category, the project aims to explore it in the context of education.

As always, the Dissertation Research Prize competition attracted several high-quality and exciting proposals, including projects on theatre and performance in Cuba, variable pay systems in Russia and multi-generational housing in Britain and Germany. The Division wishes every success to all of its Part IIA students planning to do dissertation research over the long vacation.
