Department of Social Anthropology

Tom England

The series:

This series explores the relevance and application of anthropology beyond the academy. Presentations are often given by alumni who now work in a range of careers, reflecting on how their study of anthropology has informed their work. Previous guests include Gillian Tett, Anthony Gormley, Cameron Saunders and Sandi Toksvig. Other presentations have been on a variety of topics including museum practice, journalism, consultancy, policy work, charity and government. The series is also a space for members of the department to speak about the relevance of their research outside of academia and their collaborative work with those in other sectors, industries, and fields. The talks are an opportunity to connect with people in these diverse worlds of work and provide fascinating insights about the life of anthropology in the world today. Students, staff and affiliates are all welcome!
