 CUSAS Workshop with Dr Kelly Fagan Robinson (University of Cambridge)ABC Methods: A practical workshop using citizen social science with less-listened-to adults and kids

In this practice-based workshop, Kelly will share some of the methods work she has been doing with less-listened-to kids and adults via a multimodal citizen social science methodology she's named Anthropology By Children/Communities or 'ABC'. The point of ABC is to support original participant-led research to highlight and support capacities participants already have for assessing social spaces and the people in those spaces. We will also open a discussion about CUSAS' recent foray into school visits, and future appetite for working with multimodal ethnographic methods in local schools, community centres and the wider university in aim of broadening awareness of anthropology. Please bring paper, a pen and an open mind to the session.

Bio: Kelly Robinson is a Medical Anthropologist whose work focuses on disabilities, marginalisation, access policies and communication breakdown between individuals and institutions. Kelly devised Anthropology By Children/Communities as a way to use ethnographically grounded, citizen social science as a means of supporting self-advocacy skills and improving legibility of marginalised people.
