Department of Social Anthropology

With alumni Nina Fudge and Alisi Mekatoa

The anthropologist will see you now: applied health research in public health and primary care

Alisi Mekatoa and Nina Fudge will discuss how their undergraduate experiences of anthropology, in particular medical anthropology, have influenced their careers working in applied health research. Through their current research projects they will touch on how anthropologically informed fieldwork allows them to challenge dominant thinking in biomedicine and conduct research which is relevant to patients and practitioners at the coal face of primary care.
