Liminal bodies

Rethinking with Dr Karolina Kuberska  (University of Cambridge, THIS institute)

Guest interviewer: Evelyn L Hoon (MPhil student in Health Medicine Society)

How does pregnancy blur traditional boundaries of self and other, of emotion and somatic experience? In what ways might we complicate these dualities using the nuances discovered through ethnographic research? In this session, we follow Dr Karolina Kuberska (University of Cambridge, THIS Institute) and her thinking journey of liminal bodies and language, reflecting on classic concepts through the frame of pregnancy. https://www.thisinstitute.cam.ac.uk/about/people/dr-karolina-kuberska/

This event is organised by the CUSAS Health and Wellbeing Discussion Group, as part of the 'Health and Wellbeing: (Re)thinking with Anthropologists' series for the 2023-2024 academic year.
