We welcome all students and staff to take part in our first reading group of this academic year.
We will gather on zoom on Monday 22nd of November between 5 pm -6:30 pm to discuss two works centred on Palestine, the Israeli military and international law:
1) Palestinian anthropologist Rema Hammami's article in Current Anthropology: "Destabilizing Mastery and the Machine: Palestinian Agency and Gendered Embodiment at Israeli Military Checkpoints" &
2) The introduction of Lori Allen's recent book "False Hope".
After about one hour of informal discussion, we will welcome new members and together brainstorm and make plans for the next semester.
