Welcome to our new Assistant Professor in Environmental Anthropology
This term the Department warmly welcomes Dr Mike Degani as our Assistant Professor in Environmental Anthropology. Mike is an anthropologist of infrastructure and energy in Africa and beyond. Having received his PhD from Yale University in 2015, he then taught in the department of anthropology at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore.
Since 2009 Mike has conducted long-term ethnographic research in Tanzania, supported by the National Science Foundation, the Social Science Research Council, the Wenner-Gren Foundation, the Fulbright-Hayes Foundation, and American Council of Learned Societies.
